Know what your apps are doing.

Most apps talk to servers you never chose. Rempart shows you each one, as it happens, without blocking anything until you decide to.

A live map of every connection

Watch connections fly from your Mac to servers around the world, colored by what happened to them. Locations are looked up offline, inside the app.

Statistics for up to a year

See which apps send the most, to which servers and countries, by the hour or by the month. Every connection is in a searchable log.

Always in the menu bar

Live traffic and the latest connections are a click away, with Filter, Monitor and Off at hand.

Monitor without risk

Monitor mode records everything and blocks nothing, so you can learn what's normal before you write a single rule.

Knows who's calling

Rempart names every app by its code signature, and treats unsigned programs with extra care.

Filtering

Decide what gets through.

When an app connects somewhere new, Rempart asks. Your answer becomes a rule, and the rule decides from then on.

  • Allow or deny once, for an hour, until the app quits, or for good.
  • Rules for an app, a server, a whole domain, a port or your local network, in either direction.
  • Blocklists for ads, trackers, malware and scams, turned on with a switch.
  • Profiles that change your rules with the Wi-Fi network you're on.
  • Silent mode decides without prompts and logs it, to make rules later.
  • Import and export rules as .lsrules files.

Private by design

Your traffic is nobody's business.

A firewall should be the one app that doesn't phone home. Rempart has no account, no analytics and no servers of ours.

Stays on your Mac

Your history, rules and settings live on this Mac only. Delete the app and they're gone.

Located offline

The map finds servers with a database inside the app. No address is ever sent anywhere to be looked up.

Nothing to sell

Rempart doesn't collect, send or sell data. The only connections it makes are the blocklists you turn on and the map's tiles.

For power users

Scriptable, and still yours.

A command-line tool inside the app prints status, rules and live connections as text or JSON, for your scripts and AI agents. It's off until you turn it on, and any change it asks for waits for your click.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What does Rempart do?

Rempart shows which apps on your Mac connect to the internet, where those servers are and how much data they exchange. With filtering, it asks before an app connects and applies your rules and blocklists.

Is Rempart free?

Monitoring is free: the live map, the log, statistics and the menu bar. Filtering, with prompts, rules, blocklists and profiles, is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription.

Does Rempart send my data anywhere?

No. Rempart has no account, no analytics and no servers. Your connection history, rules and settings stay on your Mac, and server locations come from a database inside the app.

Which Macs does Rempart support?

Rempart requires macOS 26 Tahoe or later. It uses a network extension that macOS asks you to approve once in System Settings.

Can I watch traffic without blocking anything?

Yes. Monitor mode records every connection for the map, the log and the statistics, and blocks nothing. Switch between Filter, Monitor and Off from the toolbar, the menu bar or the Dock.

How accurate is the map?

Locations are approximate. They come from an offline IP database, so servers behind a VPN, a proxy or a content delivery network often appear where their network is registered.

When can I get Rempart?

Rempart is coming to the Mac App Store. This page will link to it as soon as it is available.

Take back your network.
